Half Day Yoga Retreat Toukley

The Winter Solstice is the shortest hours of sunlight and the longest hours of darkness of the year. It signifies nourishment, rest and reflection and prepares for renewal in the month to follow, spring.

We can use this time of introspection to work into the deep layers of our being and release what has been holding us back either physically, mentally or emotionally. Offering yourself time and permission to do this inner work gives you the ability and the tools to grow through times that are stagnant.

These wintery months also embody endurance and resilience as we must withstand the cooler days and evenings to continue our daily lives.

Nourishment is key during these months and if we follow the principles of Ayurveda wellness we can boost our body with the right nutrients and hydration to see us through.

We must keep our body moving to reduce becoming sedentary over winter and to maintain cardiovascular health, strength and to support our immune system. It also enhances our mood by the release of serotonin and endorphins keeping our step just a light as the warmer months.

All of this can be explored in the day retreat Winter Solstice Journey 

  • Practice a vinyasa class to warm your body and harness movement

  • Be nourished by seasonal soup and light snacks

  • Walk in nature and absorb our wintery surrounds

  • Practice a yin class with guided yoga nidra meditation to find rest & reflect

  • Journal your experience to embody the act of letting go

  • How to prepare for the day

  • Please be sure to have breakfast at least 90 minutes for the retreat begins as we will start our day with a vinyasa practice

  • Bottle of water, yoga block. You are welcome to bring your own yoga props including a yoga mat.
